Leah is a partner with CPST Intellectual Property Inc. and helps clients protect their inventions by building strong intellectual property portfolio’s. Leah’s practice focuses on drafting and prosecuting patents and industrial designs. She advises clients on patent filing strategy and portfolio management and prepares opinions on patentability, validity, infringement and freedom to operate.
Leah specializes in chemical and life science patents. During her 15 years in practice she has worked on a range of technologies including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, agriculture and food science, medical devices, oil and gas, batteries and fuel cells, materials and consumer products. She has worked with large and small companies, universities and individual inventors to protect their inventions.
Having started her career working as a researcher in a prominent Canadian biotechnology company, Leah understands both the science and the role that intellectual property plays in a business. Leah uses that understanding to help her client’s develop strong and efficient intellectual property portfolios that work for their business.
